#92: Capturing the Passion with Bob Gruen

#92: Capturing the Passion with Bob Gruen

In this episode, we sit down for a conversation with renowned rock photographer Bob Gruen. Bob has been documenting the artists, concerts, and clubs that have come to define rock music, and is responsible for some of the most iconic images of the idiom. In his over 50 year career, he has photographed the likes of Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Harry Nilsson, The Rolling Stones, The Clash, The Who, and so many others. Bob talks with John and Stewart about his artistic philosophy, his move from film to digital, his relationship with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and what it’s been like being on the other side of the camera as music history happened. Bob’s voice is a little grainy in this interview due to connection issues, but his spirit and stories come through loud and clear.

For more on Bob’s life and work, read his autobiography “Right Place, Right Time: The Life Of A Rock & Roll Photographer” available wherever books are sold.
